I move to China in two weeks and thought it would be best to have a check up before I leave. I had all my jabs a year ago so I knew I was covered for most things but I wanted to have a record and also to enquire about Jap encephalitis? and also Malaria tablets as I will be going to Southern China and Mosquitoes just love me. Anyway, here's what happened.
5.45 Urine Test 5.46 Results of Urine test 5.47 Do you smoke, how much do you drink, how much exercise do you take, do you have any family history of ....... 5.48 Lie on the couch, prod here, prod there, open your jaw, look up, thank you, let me take your blood pressure 5.49 weigh yourself 5.50 You're up to date with typhoid, hep A, B, Polio, blah blah "What about Malaria??" Oh, here's the number for British Airways, phone them and ask for advice regarding Malaria 5.51 "oh, ok, what about Jap enceph?" Oh, we don't have any in stock, besides, it's £50 a shot, here's the number for British Airways,phone them and ask if you need it. 5.52 "Oh, Ok, what about blood tests, my visa requirements are that I test negative for HIV and syphillis?? (sorry spelling!)" Here's the number for this clinic, phone them and arrange an appointment 5.52 You're due for a smear, phone the nurse for an appointment but we can't fit you in for two weeks. 5.53 That will be £40 please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

What I find funny is that your doctor referred you twice to an airline for medical advice. I hope you don't have trouble getting your baggage checked or they'll send you back to your doctor to sort it out.
