I will be spending around 8-10 months in Aus and NZ and I was wondering if anyone had any experience of getting Ventolin Inhalers there. I dont really want to have to take 8 months worth with me. Can it be bought over the counter in Aus? I can take a prescription with me, but I would like to know if it can be bought OTC.

I'm not an asthmatic myself so I could be wrong, but way back when I was in primary school and seemed to be the only child in the entire universe who didn't have asthma ventolin was incredibly popular.

So yeah, you certainly shouldn't have any problems getting it here, the only thing is that I imagine you'd have to get a prescription from an aussie doctor. I would think it'd be a good plan to bring a letter from your normal doctor to give them.

Actually, I just asked my mother's opinion - she reckons she's been able to buy it without a prescription to have it for first aid (she used to work at a preschool, it's a must for them). She said they just ask what it's for and make sure you know what you're doing.
