I was surprised to read 'Good to know: Christchurch does not have a lot to offer in the city after a day or two.' I have been to Christchurch numerous times during my 5 trips to NZ and have always stayed 4-6 nights because there is so much to do! They've got all adventure activities you can imagine and much cheaper but in equally stunning surroundings than other more commercial places such as Queenstown, they have a great city with lots of cultural things to do such as museum, art galleries, theatre etc, they've got heaps of events organised by the city and mainly free, and they've got some real great beaches to go and hang out all day if you want to. I'm shortly off to NZ again and will be spending a fair amount of time in Christchurch again and I'm sure I'll find things again that I haven't done before such as explore the ski fields because this will be my first time going to NZ in winter. All in all: I find Christchurch deserves a better city write up than what's to be found in this articel.
