Thank you SO much for this. I will be volunteering in Lantang until the end of June, and have 2 weeks and a couple days to trek - am really interested in heading up Yala peak..

I have found it impossible to find information on this region from real travellers (not tour group companies), especially on trekking in the monsoon season. You have alleviated my concerns to no end, and it sounded like it was a fantastic experience for you. All the best.
