Hello there Denni! I was so thrilled to find an article on bootsnall about Sark! .. I know your last parts about the older crowd and lack of nightlife seems like it has to be the only option..with the beautiful wild flowers, and horse drawn tours.. but let me tell you I had some of my wildest times of summer there... I lived and worked..illegally.. on sark last summer.. I was there from about April until July.. it is a gorgeous step back in time, and such a trip or a community to be a part of..noone has heard of it, and noone has gone there.. makes it quite hard to explain..the strong unique place it holds in my heart to my friends.. I suppose in January almost all of the seasonal staff are gone.. but int he high season the two pubs become like a neighborhood gathering with people from 15-75 that you start to recognize.. and actually a large social group of the carpenters, and hotel and restaurant staff..that the average age is like 23, from Europeans, to Aussies, to Kiwis, a few canadians, etc... there are a few "harbour parties" every summer.. where everyone starts at one of the pubs..(either the mermaid or the bel-air) and when they close (like midnight) heads down to the old harbour most likely, where the planners..have set up a huge fire, music through speakers, a few lights, maybe a strobe.. with the back drop of the ocean and the cliffs behind, and the international crew heading down, they were really gorgeous and magical experiences.. anyway.. I"m so glad you got a taste of Sark, enjoyed it, and wrote this lovely article to share.. thanks!! --Chelon
