Great article Lynn, and a pretty comprehensive list for this kind of walking Smile

I do feel compelled to point out though, that a fuel stove is an essential item when walking in Tasmania. Water can be scarce and often isn't safe to drink without boiling first. Also, if you get caught out in bad weather - which can spring up without warning in alpine areas - it just may save your life! It also allows you to carry dehydrated food, so on a 5+ day walk doesn't actually add much weight. There's also the caffeine/hot cocoa factor Wink
