What in the world is this lady doing giving a trip report to BootsnAll? She obviously isn't into backpacking and staying at hostels. Her and S.O. spent more for their little weekend outing than I would spend on a six month outing to Central America.

Well, that may be a little harsh Willie -- some of us do stay in hotels instead of hostels and use wheeled luggage instead of backpacks. But I do agree this is out of place on BnA.

The piece read like a travel promo piece in a women's magazine ( Redbook comes to mind). Everything was wonderful, nothing was overpriced, there were no crowds, no transportation problems...

Pretty unrealistic based on my experience in SF, which I've visited a number of times.

"nAll" for everything else that independent travel is and should be to an individual.

Sorry, wrdwillie, this site isn't just for backpackers. If it was, I certainly wouldn't be here.

I agree that this article was more like a promo piece (United Hemisphere's 3 Perfect Day series comes to mind), it isn't inappropriate. Everyone choses to spend their travel dollar differently...and should not be judged.

There is plenty of room for all sorts of travel writing here.

BootsnAll subscribes to the "big tent" philosophy and wants everybody to get a llama.
