Good article, very interesting. I'm a bit confused on the Laos having a silent 's' part. I thought if you say Lao it was spelled 'Lao' and if you say Laos it's spelled 'Laos'. There was a big debate on the boards a while back about pronouncing the s or not, but I didn't think was silent. For example, so many backpackers have the 'Beer Lao' shirts... Am I still confused? |
