This is where I have been for July/August.
This author talks of changes in this area in general. It's not really an indepth look at Zhuhai.

This one clicked with me personally because the thought patterns are closer to my own than any other article I have read. He says one thing about China and then adds a larger perspecive, or a balanced view. This continues throughout the article. I think the same way, "oh, they do things this way...well could you imagine if they didn't.." "westerners do the same thing, but...and so therefore..."

He has a short description of Zhuhai that's accurate. Green manicured parks and murkey water that's photoshopped for brochures.

Strangely, the other article he wrote on a different city brought me mentally back to China more than this one did about the actual place that I was staying. However, this piece has more general China commentary regarding plans for the SEZ.

Interestingly, on maps Zhuhai is marked as SAR, not SEZ. (Lonely planet website, I'm pretty sure). So, I've been referring to Zhuhai as part of an SAR. I'm probably wrong. It looked, smelt, and tasted like an SEZ to me. It also looked smelt and tasted like the China that's written about again and again. Yuck.

So, this one didn't bring me back to Zhuhai, but I enjoy this author very much.
