OK, THAT WAS YOURS NEW BORN DAY....
When we have elections in Colombia, nobody can take alcoholic beverage (thinK: violence plus alcoholic plus passionate elections = bad mixture)
I strongly recommend to foreigners in Colombia, in special way to americans and europeans do not use public transportation between cities (buses, taxis, cab etc), the countryside is still dangerours . Use planes...

Nice article. Bad choice from Cali to Cartagena in a bus, right before elections. Read the thread: http://boards.bootsnall.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/591098755/m/79600852216
And a small note to the article by Roy Jones. On the fifth paraqgraph: "The paramilitary group, FARC, had come out and said they would be trying their best to oust the president from office."... the Farc is not a paramilitary group is a TERRORIST GROUP. there is an ongoing peace negociation with the Paramilitaries in Colombia. so I think it´s important to bear this in mind.
It looks like you got a great deal from travelling around Colombia.
