I'm starting to get nervous. Actually, I'm more nervous than excited if you want to know the truth. There are just sooo many variables!
What should I be doing right now? With 10 days left before I leave, what are the last minute things I should be doing? |

Passport = check
Visa = Don't need any Spare copies = of what exactly? I've heard others say I need these but I was never sure of what. Money = I have TC's, some Cash and money in the bank. Thanks Slip. I just wish I could enjoy this time rather than being scared and anxious. I'm starting to have trouble sleeping. |

That's normal.
Also, don't forget to have some empty room in your pack so that you have space for all the fabulous gifts that you are bringing back for the moderators. |

Libby,
spare copies = a photo copy of your passport (kept in a different/separate place! than original) and any other all-important valuables--plane tix if you're paperish....uhhh....and "money stuff" like atm card/bank phone numbers in case you have to call to cancel a card etc. It's just worst-case scenario stuff if you have to replace/cancel. Basically ID and $. That's it (I think?). The rest is just HAVING FUN! |

Is it really safe to be carrying around photocopies of such important documents?
I thought I'd scan them and then e-mail the scans to myself as part of an attachment. Staying calm is hard to do. I've never done anything like this in my life. I really want this to be fun and go well so I will feel confident enough to visit other, more challenging countries. Dunno about the gifts guys. But I'll have a Beer in your honour. |

This works, too!
QUIT WORRYING!!! You're going to countries where they (sort of) speak English and have all kinds of technology! You'll be fine and have a great time! Really, really, really. |

Have all your toiletries? They come in handy.

Yes, I have toiletries
Travis, The stuff I'm worried about has nothing to do with the country. It's really stupid stuff like...will I fit in> Will people like me? Will my foot give out? It's just last minute nerves. |
