My advice would be to make your question more specific.

Why must i be held down by those you need walls. Think outside the box man!!!

Pack nice clothes, too.

Take half the clothes and twice the money that you think you'll need.

Always have a way out. Even if it's just something you tell your parents to make them feel better.

And read something about the place besides a travel guide: something to spark your curiosity and wonder. Perhaps a novel, perhaps some Twain or Kipling.
