Last year i organized a 12 days Trek to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal. That event raised funds to support the on going effort of the community programs & projects of the organization i was working with. Most of the participants joined are young and enthusiastic people came from different parts of the world.

One of the participants approach me and told me that his Aunt also is interested to do trekking in Nepal but what worries her is that she is on her late 40's.

Then i thought maybe I could organize one for them.

So I come up with an idea to organize a trek to Annapurna base camp or Everest Base Camp for older people. Many of them would like to go trekking in Nepal. But mostly are hesitant to do as they think that it’s beyond their capabilities. What they don’t know is that, they don't need to be very fit; (just fit and well). The idea of trekking is to take it slowly enough to really see the places trekker's are walking through. Trekking should be enjoyable and stimulating. Trekkers don’t need to be so tired that they couldn’t care less where they are.

I want to make it happen! i make an slower itinerary and more flexible. This itinerary plans to suit the weather, health and physical condition of the participants.

It is about halfway between going with an 'organized tour' and 'independent trekking'. More like a group of friends who will club together to go on trek to Nepal.

Please let me know your thoughts about this event. If this might interest anyone kindly drop me a line. salve_29@hotmail.com

Any comments are well appreciated!

Cheers

I'm hoping to be in Nepal this sept-oct to do EBC and maybe Annapurna treks. I'm 40, and just completed the Kepler Track here in NZ. The most physically demanding thing I have ever done in my slow, fat, lazy life. Now I am feeling better about my chances in Nepal. I'd be interested in meeting other life experienced people to do some of the trekking with. pm me, or just keep this thread active. cheers.
