Somehow I am not able to post a reply, hence this new post. Besides, I too am curious aboutout the starry rating.

Stephan, if you post quite often (I think five times) you automatically get a new designation.

Now can the bootboyz explain how stars are alloted against a new post. I sure was thrilled, when stars were alloted against a post (in fact in primary school stars were given to those who stood first in a subject, wow! school, wish i could be back there) but I am curious about it. Does it depend on the number of views, does not seem so, if I analyse a few other posts. then how is it decided?

The stars are a way users can mark a thread as being good, mediocre or poor. Just go to the bottom right of the thread and you can vote. Obviously it would help if all the threads wer marked so we could get some kind of guage to what people liked.

The stars are perhaps somewhat redundant as we also have counter that indicates replies and views.
