Since I'm jobless, with my pc online 18 hours a day, I was wondering, why don't.. if you can.. have a chat program here where members can chat live? It'll be cool... I would love to attend some meetings you guys have, but.. if only I can get a US Visa...

You need money to travel. To travel normally that is.

This has actually come up before...

Chat room?

I'm still hoping that there isn't a chat room on here - but you never know...

Cheers, Anthony

As an alternative....

Tag Board?

Then any admin can just delete msg's at their whim. It can be on or off topic, I think the emphasis is more on just real-time interaction with the people they've met online @ BnA.

Besides, looking around at the majority of members, the "ASL" lines Im guessing will be substantially reduced. Smile

Just a thought

I am really torn between the two.

Why? Well I'll tell you.

Some weeks I have all the freetime in the world. I just sit down and post post post until jenny comes home. This is when a chatroom would be great. I am avalible all day to keep on top of all the discussions. On days like this a chatroom would be good.

Some weeks (and this is true of most posters) I get to check the boards once every day or so. With a chatroom I couldnt participate with the discussion at all. Even when I can post alot, most of the time I post there are only 0-2 members on the forum. A chatroom with 2 people would be really small and just as useful as the forums

Forgive my internet ignorance.

Delara,

WOrry not, its not net ignorance - you just happen to have more important things to get up too daily - rather than I who opens mail and prints the bosses email Mad

Anyway, a tag board is basically a realtime bulletin board. You post to the tagboard and people can post back immediately in realtime. So rather than the "pop up" box and posting, you do it into a realtime window.

Like So

Hope this helps Smile

Ah, Dan, you have saved me from yet another silly internet thing I did not know existed outside of online chess sites. I am terrible at chess too.

Lately I don't have anything better to do. I went to Starbucks four times yesterday. I do believe my supervisors are drinking LA out of lattes!

Ah, Starbucks is BAD, very bad.

If you fancy a great Gringo coffee seniorita, Java Man on Pier Avenue/Manhattan, Hermosa absolutely kicks ARSE. They're coffee dances round your mouth!

Christ I miss LA.....

I don't believe I've ever heard anyone actually use the phrase "I miss LA." Except us locals. Are you feeling alright? You aren't still hungover are you?

If I ever get down to visit my friends in So Bay, which is not often, Java Man it is. See, people in production have this odd idea that Starbucks coffee is, erm, good. Don't get it.

Ah yeah, but people that dont say it are usually the folks that Stayed in Hollywood and went to the Strip. "Maybe" got out as far as Santa Monica, and thats it. Cause thats LA isnt it....

Its like when people say "Oh, I hated London, it was so busy and dirty and everyone hates each other". When they've been to the West End and thats it. YES EVERYONE HATES EVERYBODY in the west end because its rather DANGEROUS. Ive never known anywhere in the civilised world where you can walk down a road in the middle of one of the largest cities in the world and pick up drugs like your buying of a market stall. Its rather "dodgy" Big Grin

I loved LA, absolutely loved it, because I stayed by the beach, did my "mandatory" city tour on an Air Con bus and otherwise walked to places I needed to get too.

LA might be the city of cars but I promised myself id never once make myself drive (I got other people to do it for me bwuahahah)

You're correct, the "real" LA is not the Sunset Strip or Hollywood Blvd or Third St. Promenade (in Santa Monica). It's where the people live and hang out. It's Venice Boardwalk, Farmer's Market (3rd & Fairfax), the Canyons, Los Feliz, Ventura Blvd fr. Studio City to the 405.

The Strip is for foreigners and OC/Hollywood club kids w/ too much money to burn. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). I dare travellers to walk into a neighborhood bar or pub instead of the hip new place. (Like tonight when I head out to the pub to get nice and toasty. Yeah me!).

But if you ever come back here you will have to drive, babe. Coz Angelenos spend most of their time in their cars!

D Smile
