Hi Bootsnall boyz

This sure was a cute thing, I now have a wonderful designation called "vagabonder", only wish I could live up to this. Guess those with less pleasing designations wont be that pleased. Maybe you should explain how to move up the bootsnall corporate ladder.
cheers
Dusty

Indeed. I am not an armchair traveler, in fact, I have never traveled with an armchair.
Sometimes I take along a folding chair when I am camping, but I don't rest my arms on it.
Harrummpf!

Hmmm... ok, good point dusty. Here's the hierarachy:

Package Tourist (this is where you start)
Contiki Bus Bunny
Armchair Traveller
Vagabonder

You'll just have to keep active on the boards to find out how you move onwards and upwards though.

And Joe - how do you like your new designation? Ninja

4 months, 1 continent, a loopy Yank writer and a lot of trains. Oh my.

Ant...as I mentioned in the forum somewhere else...may I have "may be bribed with pints" put after my Vagabonder title? Maybe something to do with Newkie Brown? If ya change it I'll buy you a pint (someday)! Wink

Oh wait, now everyone's going to want a fancy new title.

Ah, listen to yiz... Smile All right. Tell you what - if you come through Oregon or Bali or wherever and meet us chaps, or if we get to meet up with you somewhere, then let's say we just might be willing to customize your title. Maybe. But remember my own title - there will be booze bribes involved.

Keep posting - and meet the BootBoyz, and we'll talk. Ah, what a devious bunch we are...

You just got a shorter flight, Java Boy! The lads and I are now firmly ensconced in Portland, in our new digs in the northeast part of town. Come on through, and we shall discuss bribery, business, and titles!

Gads - we can't have that. I'd hate for people to think I can no longer be bought Smile

How's this for a new sig then? :

Yah know, I mentioned this before (apparently in the wrong place), that I didn't think an armchair traveller should be "higher" than a package tourist. At least a package tourist has been somewhere, even if it was packaged and even if they were touristy about it. An armchair traveller sounds to me like one who wants to travel but can't leave the chair! (sounds like my sister. I wanted her to go with me to Scotland, but she's never been further south than Massacheusetts (sp?), Maine left Mass so I don't have to remember how to spell it! Anyway I've been trying to get a handle on these name attachments!

Hey Grey Cat,
I heard a great little line that would serve as a title for you:
I believe you have referred to yourself as a "hippie" on several occasions. How about - Hippie Gypsy

Seemed most appropriate.

cheers -

I just noticed another little thing. It's not a new designation, but on the first forum page where it used to say how many guests and members were browsing, it now says how many people online are members and how many are sight seers.

I like that.

Thanx! "sightseers" just seemed better than lurkers.

Hippy Gypsy... I like that. Well Grey, you know what to do. Swing on up, meet one of us lads, and bring booze. I'm sure we may be able to work out a mutually agreeable solution Smile

Now, this whole armchair v. package thing... hmmm... on the one hand, I see your point. But at least an armchair traveler may also have been somewhere - and independently! They could just be saving $$$ for the next big jaunt, after all, whereas the package tourist could, well, just be waiting for the next meatmarket bus to come 'round.

Cheers, Anthony - Eurail Blog.com
