Well... Idea...
Well... Plagiarism actually but I thought it was rather groovy!

Fell across Travellerspoint.com today (My allegiance to BnA is all consuming guv Big Grin) and they had this rather excellent Travellers Reunited thing? Possibility for a forum. Low maintenance and people could just post names and where they were. It could stay as a forum with a universal (guest) search facility?

sure - can you further explain how it might work?

1) A separate forum
2) What would it be called?
3) And how would we describe it?

Find old travelmates? or something like that...

Sean,

Well... not to sure how the ole BBS works in its nuts and bolts but I thought about a little something like

1) Yeah, a new forum, down where Spiritual Traveller and Travel Buddies Lives
2) Name? mmm... Old Travel Mates?

3) I guess the best way to explain it would be "Looking for old travel buddies you've lost contact with? Take a look here."

Basically, people can post who they are looking for and where. Then should someone ever do a search, it will pop up in the search under the Topic and Title heading!

Everyone's lost at least one email address they wish they hadnt. The only down side to this is the forum could become a "Desperately Seeking" forum full of broken Holiday Romances...

Still... this could provide some humourous light entertainment!

(Devil's advocate enters room) Couldn't it end up slightly stalky. Stalky? Yeah, that's a word.

I mean, an ex boyfriend I definitely did not want contact with did a search for my name on the net and landed here, read one of my stories and the email link on my name led him directly to me.

Sometimes I like the anonymity the internet (sometimes) allows. Of course, we only give out the info we want others to know, but would you want someone telling someone else on another board where you were and how to contact you?

Ah but the argument could be made that you dont leave your contact details. See, as its a thread, then the person searching you could just leave THEIR contact details instead.

There is "that" email addy that you can use from your nick on here, but its only an email address. With blocking facilities.. Smile

Fortunately all my Ex's run for the hills. Never had an ex-stalker. Tho I did once have a stalker who I apparently served in the bar once and then kept calling my house. I was obnoxious for weeks Big Grin

PS. Your as anonymous as you want Smile

No, it's a great idea! It's so hard to keep in contact with folks these days, no matter what your original intentions.......and most people usually LIKE to be found.

But, how would it work? Would you organize it by location of where you last saw or met someone?
