I've just been trying to book a bed for 2 people for 1 night in a London hostel for Dec. 15th and given up in despair:

  • The list of properties is reset every time I use the 'back' button of my browser, so I've no idea where I've just looked or whether it is still ranking according to availability
  • The search randomly reset to '7 nights' after I clicked on a property that only offers 7 nights and above, and stayed there
  • I seem to be able to only search and book for one person

So, after I found a suitable hostel, I Googled the place and found that beds in a 4-bed dorm which were supposedly available on the night had sold out, as had indeed every single other dorm bed in that hostel (via hostelbookers and one or two other booking sites).

So, what gives? It would be useful to search for 2 people at a time(or more, if you're travelling in a group), for the availability/price etc. ranking to work and for the booking info to be up-to-date.

I'll try the hotel bookings next, seeing that all the hostels seem to be booked up.

Thanks for the feedback WW.

We just re-did the code for that section and very well could have some bugs that we missed. We are on it now.

Wow - you are fast.

What is your operating system (Vista, WinXP, Mac?) and what browser did you use?

Hi WW,

I'll email you to get exact details for what you're seeing and how you're searching, but the most important thing now is to get you into a hostel.

Search from the box on this page - England/London, Dec 15th, one night. The resulting list are all hostels that do have availability for that night. You can sort by price or by name if you know which one you're looking for.

Once you select a hostel (Book Now button), you can then select the type of room (dorm/private) and how many people will be staying. Click 'book now' again to purchase those beds.

I found 2 beds at St Christopher's Village in London.
