How are you suppose to find member profiles? There is no "profile" link on the home page, and no search entry anywhere for this. Even on a blog page, there are no profile links!

If you click on the person's name on the post, you can read their info. A search function will be coming soon in 2006, we hope.

A roundabout way to do it...
If you know the username but don't want to spend time finding a post go to your private messaging screen start a new PM and search for new buddies. Enter username and after a search a screen will pop up for you to choose if thst who you want. Click on the username and not the little box- its a link to their profile. From there you can either PM the person because their bio was oh so fascinating or just cancel out of the PM.

I'm a sneaky one Wink

That's the way I do it too - is there a better way? And if not - could one be created/added? Like, just by adding a the "find buddies" comand to the "find" menu instead of having to go through the PM?

There sure is - but technically it would be hacking and I don't think Sean or Chris would appreciate the traffic spike too much Eek - best wait until they roll out new features Cool

Times I need to look someone up like that:

-When I am in the chat (before you could just click on people... or maybe you could before and I just didn't know it) and need a reminder of where somone lives, or where they're going and don't want to ask them for the 894790230967th time. My memory is awful for stuff like that.

-The other day, when I was saying Toronto wasn't too far to come to the party, I wanted to look up Philip's location so I didn't say something stupid like "Philip's coming all the way from London" if his profile clearly says he's somewhere else.

Those two are not really the kind of things you need to PM someone for, also not a situation where their SN is right in front of you and you can click it.

Personally, I'd like it if you could search for people by more then screen name, since that does have limited application, but being able to search by location would be fabulous.

Loaction searching would be cool - am trying to invite people down to London for a bit of a knees up - rooting through forum postings trying to find locals is painfully slow.

[Court: shouldn't this thread be in the sugegstions & feedback forum ?]
