I dig it! I love that the background is white and muted colors rather than the prison gray and dark colors of the current design. It sounds silly but it makes a huge impact. I like the side tabs for Destinations, Flights, etc and that there aren't loads of ads all over the place.

There's not a catch is there? Like after I post this a zillion pop ups will hit me or something? It almost seems to good to be true. Wink

So you picked a forum that almost no one reads for tests?

Looks good.

I find the contrast in the color scheme a little bit too sharp. It's not bad, but the green in the alternate posts could be a little more pale for me. That would of course probably lead to something significantly more ugly. I think I'm being overly sensitive with this.

All in all, it seems like a much cleaner look and I think it's a huge layout improvement. Can't wait to see it migrated to the boards.

I chose a less trafficked forum for sure to see how it would behave in a 'real world' setting in case I broke something and sent everyone into a panic (myself included). But nearly 2300 page views last month for this forum is not insignificant.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I'm glad it's considered an improvement. We'll be rolling it out to a few more forums for more widespread testing soon. And then to all once we're satisfied.

Umm... did the green turn to a shade of beige? My work monitor sucks compared to my MacBook, but I feel like this is actually different.

If the colour changed, then I like the new one better Wink

Yeah, at work its a springy green, which has higher contrast but I like the color enough that its ok. But at home it is a light greyish color which is not quite so festive but still pleasant.

I dont actually like it. The colors are too bright and I've tried it on a few dif. computers with the same effect. It just seems to glaring for me. Maybe it's just that I stare at computers all day and my eyes have become sensitive. Prison gray might not be the answer (allthough I dont personally mind it) but this is just too pastel for my liking.

--then again I seem to be about the only one who dosen't dig it so..meh.

I realize you're probably still working on this, but one thing that I don't like is that a link no longer changes color after you visit it. I use this a lot to see what threads/forums have been posted on since I last read.

Someone must have jumped right on this because I just noticed that the threads you have visited turn a bright blue. Once my brain gets used to this (mostly links become duller after they've been clicked on) I'll like it. I too use the color change to quickly scan where I've been.

Edit: The other thing that seems new is that the pages are wider (that is new, right?) which means one must scroll not only up and down but side to side, albeit not too much, but that kind of bugs me.

Edit #2: Never mind, I must be hallucinating again. The links change from bright to dull now. Time for my medication.

No your right, they changed it, I think they just inverted it, i.e. bright=unread dull=read where it was vice versa before, I like this format.

I tend to call it #e9ecce, Joe. If I had a more bilious nature perhaps I could compare Wink

The colours have not been chosen at random, but that being said I'm no artist. If anyone can wow me with a more harmonious combination, I'm all eyes Eek

Spiralout, what resolution do you have on your monitor? There should not be any sideways scrolling unless you have a smaller than usual screen.
