This is a copy of an e-mail that I just sent to Travelstorydirectory.com:

I recently came across two travel stories, both of which I wrote and own the copyright to, on travelstorydirectory.com. The names of the stories are, "Three Ways of Seeing Flamenco in Sevilla," and "Hang-gliding in the Land of the First Flight," and both were originally posted on Bootsnall.com.

You have used both stories illegally and without my permission, and I expect payment for the usage. I am attaching an invoice for $200. If I do not receive payment within the next 30 days, I will pursue the matter legally.

Just to be clear, I'm posting the above here so that others who have contributed to BnA can find out if their stories have been "lifted" as well. There are quite a few stories attributed to BnA writers on the other site. Clearly, they're sleazeballs. (You can find porn on there, too. Gee, why didn't I think of a site where porn and travel writing are blended in such a tasteful--not--way?!!)

Whoops--I'm sorry. I posted about this a couple of months ago, and when I went back to see if anyone had replied I couldn't find the thread (duh!). I just did now, and I see that a lot of people have found their stories there, and that BnA has contacted the SOB's about it. Thanks, everyone, and sorry for the redundancy.
