After posting a comment, the main window is refreshed. this works inconsistantly on my FireFox browser. Some times it is just a blank page and F5 does nothing so I have to back up. Some times it just shows my comment, like it is the only one in the thread. And some times it works like I gather it is supposed to...refreshing the main window with all the posts in the thread.

Can you tell me what version of Firefox you're using? And Mac/PC operating system? I've not seen a problem like this using Firefox, but perhaps I can duplicate it if I know what you're using.

FF v1.0.6 on XP.

It happens frequently, but not always. Something odd happens maybe 25-33% of the time.

My requests are from a permanent IP if that might help. I'd be glad to do further debugging on my end too.

I've also noticed that a few times that the entire FF tab UI on BnA locks up if I hit the 'post now' button, and then go straight for the main UI and try to use a drop down box. Hitting the back button is the only way to regain control. Maybe this is related?

ok, it looks like a firefox thing. i got a blank page and clicked 'view source'...and there was lots of code. so, me thinks it is a ff issue.

ok, final post on this. it appears that i am a raging idiot.

i've been hitting the close window link all the time and i think that has interfered with the window posting to the main window.

so don't think about this anymore

Thanks for letting me know, Stu. It certainly had me scratching my head since I have basically the same pooter config as you do.

When using firfox, do post when in a new window on under a tab?

Do you have other applications open/running on the desktop at the time you post, like real media player or quicktime which may also use some of the dynamic link libraries needed by firefox?

What are your cookie settings, are you blocking all cookies, or allowing for particular sites?
IT ALLOWS ALL.

What are your firefox cache settings?
LOOSE, CACHE HAPPY.

On the web features, what do you have checked/unchecked?
MACHIEN AT HOME, CAN'T TELL YOU NOW

Are you going through a proxy server?
HOME ADSL NETWORK.

What is your connection speed?
768 DOWN, 640 UP. (I RUN A WEB SERVER OFF A STATIC IP.)

On the lower left where it usually says transferring data...does anything appear like (transferring...google.webstats)? I have run in to numberous problems with google.webstats hanging the update in general. I have to logout/close firefox and log back in.

i'm litterally at the airport now and using my laptop, which has a clean install...so maybe i wont' see anythign again.

i really do think it was me hitting the 'close window' button. i like breaking things, and have a sw dev background, so i'll play around a bit more at let you know what i see.

it should also be noted, now that i think about it, that i have some FF extras running: HTML validator, homeland security status update (just for fun), XSL editor (which i've not used on BnA) and maybe something else.

i am officially convinced that it was me hitting the 'close' button prematurally. have been in HK and BKK on wireless connections for the past week and not once has there been a problem.
