I live in St Lucia and all around me people are going crazy looking forward to the World Cup cricket happening shortly if not now... Loads of money has been spent in hopes of bringing a new crowd to the island in hopes of generating additional income. Is it gonna be all its cracked up to be or just another passing event?

For the countries where cricket is played, The Cricket World Cup is a huge event and for a region like the West Indies it is also huge, generating tourism and bringing people who wouldn't ordinarly visit the Caribbean to it's shores!

The CWC is an every 4 year event just like the Soccer World Cup and it's a major event for us!

Only the biggest event in the Cricket Calendar!! Just find yourself some fans, tag along at a game (preferably one where Australia is playing seeing that they are the best) and enjoy a relaxing day. Make sure you take a big Mexican hat so that you can do the Mexican wave in style!! A pair of binoculars wouldn't go astray either.

OK OK so its a big thing.. I can't say I am much of a fan myself but I was offered tickets yesterday so after this is all done and dusted I will see if me views change..
