I did a search, but only got a bunch of stuff with people referring to Tortuga the board member. Nothing in the Carib/West Indies forum.

From a random post in a key west thread, someone said its an island 75 miles off key west and 20 from cuba. There's no habitation on the island, and most people visit it during the day, but have to leave unless you want to "sleep under the stars" and not bathe?

I think you are referring to the Dry Tortugas. They are the small island grouping near Key West. The island of Tortuga is off the coast of Haiti which is not what you are referring to.

As far as any detailed info... I'm not sure.
