Despite hours of research, I still haven't found the perfect spot for a June 2008 vacation with my hubby and 20 month old. It seems that all the articles out there link babysitting services or a children's club to a great family vacation. But, that's not for us. We actually want to spend all our time together!

I'd love some advice from you experienced beach-goers out there! We have quite a laundry list of likes and dislikes, so I hope we're not out of luck...

- we'd like somewhere really safe, gone are the days of risk-taking for us!
- relatively easy to get to - direct flights and maybe one boat ride
- a sandy, shallow, calm beach is a must - we'd love to stay right on it if our budget allows - $200/night is our absolute max and we'd love to stay way under that if possible
- we'd love a quiet, friendly place, surrounded by nature where we can just relax and enjoy eachother's company, good food and nice people
- we try to avoid mega-resorts, all-inclusives, casinos, nightlife, jet-skis, noise, crowds, shopping!
- and you probably already guessed it, we are the most boring people on the planet Wink

I'd be truly grateful for any and all advice...

One of my fav islands is Virgin Gorda. I have not been there in a while, but the family in the link with twin 2yo's seem to find it divine too.

Have fun, life is a beach!

Anegada. Depending on your air fare budget you can fly direct to SJU or STT and then catch a charter flight directly to Anegada. Neptune's Treasure is a wonderful family run hotel and restaurant located on the south side of the island (calm water) One of the family members is about 21 months old! There are rooms or you can stay in the cottage, top or bottom floor. The night life seems to terminate between 10:00 or 11:00, sometimes earlier! No crime, wonderful, helpful people, beautiful beaches, simple, and laid back. Cow Wreck and the other beaches along the north side should be calm in June as the winds aren't too strong that time of year. Island population is around 240. Nice, quiet and relaxing!

Have you looked at Jake's on the south coast of Jamaica? It's a pretty hip but small resort that is really family friendly. You can check our review of it at our website, http://www.darngooddigs.com. The beach is not the perfect white sand beach, but it's good - and the place sounds perfect for what you're looking for.
