Hi,

How easy is it to find somebody to take you from one island to another in the Caribbean? For instance, if I was in Barbados and I went down to the marina at Bridgetown, how likely is it that I could find a captain willing to take me to, say, Grenada for a reasonable price?

Is this something people do regularly? Unlikely? Impossible? Stupid? Have I read "The Rum Diary" too many times?

I've noticed there is a severe lack of ferry/charter boat services in the Caribbean... and I don't want to take a half-dozen plane trips just to visit a few islands that are within a 100-mile radius of one another.

If you have sailing/maintenance skills amd flexability, you may find spots as volunteer crew on sailboats that are island hopping.
