Best: Almost anything Lagunitas but especially the Cap. stout
Worst: Chang and Singha

Really we are lucky in the Northwest US we have a vast amount of great and almost great micro brew beers that are always available.

Come check it out.

Best---ales from Orkney/Scotland, like Skull Splitters, Red McGregor's, etc. Pilsner Urquell if these aren't around.

Worst---agree w/Bud Light, but also agree that Ham's, Old Milwaulkee, etc. might be worse (no personal experience of these to speak from), might as well get a generic white or yellow can with "BEER" on it.

Yeah I have to lump some Canadian beers in the "worst" category. Molson and LeBatts. Sorry guys. Unfortunately, it's been a long while since I was last in Canada, so that's all I've been exposed to. I am open to any real good Canadian beer.

Also, I want to go on record as saying that Pabst Blue Ribbon is the best "worst beer."

After some consideration I change my vote for worst beer- Becks is God awful! When ever I asked for a Heineken in Germany they would offer a Becks. I have never had a Becks that was not skunked! I asked Germans if they ever had a Becks that wasn't skunked? I have never met one that actually liked Becks. For a country that makes fantastic beer, why they push Becks I will never know

Great topic -- I love beer. And I'm going to SE Asia (Thailand/China/Vietnam). What do they drink there? I saw someone mentioned Beer Lao; will I come across it? I really like to visit breweries when possible, although I realize that might be asking too much for this trip, but it can be pretty fun to see where the nightlife fun is born, when it's convenient, and brewers are often cool people. Suggestions?

Can only speak for Thailand. Beer Lao IS really good. It is getting easier by the month to find it all over Bangkok(in bars). Outside of BKK, not so easy. Your other local choices are Singha, locally brewed Heineken, or beer Chang. I find Singha and Heineken to be fine and switch between them all the time. Local Leo beer and Tiger from Singapore are gaining in popularity too. If you don't mind paying more, there are tons of beers available from all over the world.

Since I just moved to Texas I've found the Shiner Hefeweizen which is quite good. As for the worst I will third Bud Light. Also, I don't know if 9/10 people in Texas drink it, but I will say that I have seen more cans/bottles/empty 12 and 24 packs thrown on the side of the road in the Texas than anywhere else in the US and that 9 out of 10 times its is Bud Light. Pick a better beer and don't litter!

We are in El Bolsen in the Lakes District, Argetina, and I do have to say that the artisnal beers are ridiculously incredible. We have had rasberry, chocolate, chilipepper, you name it. But the best by far are either ones we have tried made by Illegales. There is the Negro and the Rubio Tostado. UNREAL.... go drink and be super merry!

The other day we were in a Belgian place. My buddy was talking up GULDEN DRAAK . It is apparently considered by some to be the perfect beer.

Well, it was nauseating. Gross, too sweet and trying to taste like chocolate...What the fuck is that? Chocolate. I'm not looking for CoCo Crispies I want beer!!!!

Best: Tusker. It's from Kenya and is the ultimate hot day beer. Clean, bright taste. Guinness is of course a great standby. I also love Alexander Keith's and microbrew Pale Ale's.

Worst: Bud Light, Molson Canadian and any cheap lager.
