Any good Malbec from Argentina...not the grocery store kind, but something I'd have to go to a wine shop to get...and pay a little more for...but worth it, so worth it.

The finest red wines I have ever drank were produced right here in Cincinnati from grapes that were crushed and frozen in California, then trucked to Cincinnati before being thawed and fermented into Burnet Ridge wines. Their reds -- Merlot, Pinot Noir, Purple Trillium, Super Tuscan, and Three Kings Cabernet Sauvignon -- far surpass most other red wines that cost two to five times as much.

The BEST wine would be any one I was currently drinking. Razz

I learned to decant just about any red wine for optimal taste.
I am currently experimenting with Pinot Noirs...to find the "perfect" bottle. The wife will only drink White Zins.... Roll Eyes

The WORST wine I ever had was a RED TRUCK white I got at the World Market.
Poured that sucker down the drain to open a clog...oh... used it to kill some ants too, and get the corrosion off some battery terminals. Crazy

My current favorite wine is Port, Bottled Vintage, which is to say a rough approximation of deep and velvet flavors of the real vintage bottled and stored properly more than 5 years, hopefully 20 or more.

Thats because I was just in Portugal, and I grew to like it. Its strong, sweet, and subtle. Its not something you want more than a glass of unless you like getting drunk.

So I drink a glass before I go to bed to provide sweet dreams.

Well, less than a glass for me, more like 1/3 of a glass.

The next favorite, at this moment, is a red wine, Ribiera Reservo. It too has a complex play of fruity tastes.

Sorry I can't name brands and years. I guess I'm not much of a vinophile.

It's pricey but I love Grgich Hills Cabernet (from California). Only for my special occasions.

Otherwise for more regular drinking I like Catherine's Chardonnay (California) and Santa Christina Sangiovese (Italy).

I'm also very partial to white wines from South Australia, but the good ones are hard to get here (in California). I had some wonderful wines in Adelaide that I never see for sale here.

good ol' "plonk". like what steinbeck would write about in cannery row, tortilla flats, sweet thursday, etc. good solid red table wine you could decant into a more suitable vessel, like this thimblefull here......
