Hi, I'm thinking I need to cut my outdoor food expenses and I reckon a food dehydrator is the way to go - I'm told you can dry most foodstuffs to take on a hiking trip. Any thoughts from the assembled experts, recommendations?

I've always wanted to get one. They look cheap on Ebay - about 30 bucks.

My girl loves the strawberry chips while I prefer the banana chips & jerky.

At worst you could get one used on ebay and then sell it if you don't think it's worth the time/effort.

Seems like plenty of people buy them and then get tired of doing it.
