Does anyone have food recommendations they HAVE to share? I’d really like to hear about a type of food or a restaurant that just has to be tried ? For example I live in New York and if someone I knew came here and left without trying a good NY pizza slice I would feel they hadn’t really experienced an important part of NYC.

Vegetarians, close your eyes...

BBQ (All you can eat family style meal) from the Salt Lick, just outside of Austin. It's an experience in itself.

Or for a second choice, BBQ from Rudy's. Another experience in itself -- eating off of wax paper. Locations in Texas and New Mexico.

(this is not my all time best example but this is one of the greats)

Legend's Vegetarian in Honolulu has an all-veg (fake meat) Dim SUm!! yay!

it's just a small restaurant across from a meat-happy one of the same name; they opened it to appease some matron's Buddhist beliefs?

Oceanic... Wrightsville Beach, NC. This place has the best seafood in general that I've found. They are right on the beach, with a pier you can walk out on. Its packed all the time...

The Sunset Grill is a good place up in Duck, NC (north of Kitty Hawk.)

Flying Fish... Kitty Hawk/Nags Head, NC (Anything is good)

Franks Restaurant & Bar... in Pawleys Island, SC

Dobbins House Tavern in Gettysburg, PA (TRY THE CRAB! Thats the best crab I've ever had. Baked crab meat drenched in butter...

Green Forest Brazilian Restaurant... Pittsburgh, PA. Talk about some good eating. They bring around all sorts of stuff and you try a bit of everything. Chicken, pork, lamb... Filet Mignon...

Bahama Breeze in Orlando Florida is good as well (Its a chain.) Caribbean stuff, conk fritters, jerked anything and everything... ( I think its a chain.)

There are a bunch of others that the names arent popping out onto paper at the moment. But those are all worth trying!

There are a few in Hatteras, NC (Real nice area... worth making a trip to see!) That are excellent.

If you want good BBQ you go to Lexington, NC. If you want eastern BBQ you go to Smithfields anywhere you can find one... east of Raliegh and you'll trip over them. Good, cheap BBQ!
