My favorite backcountry meal is sushi. This usually ends up being vegetarian sushi (unless you're a good fisherman.)
Rice is easy to carry and cook, and is dry so its light. Nori (seaweed paper) weighs nothing. Just make sure to sandwhich it between some cardboard so it doesn't break. A little bit of rice vinegar goes a long way. For veggies, I bring carrots, cucumbers, etc. Finally, a little bit of wasabi paste and soy sauce! You'll feel like a king and impress your fellow campers, too! |
