Well, I finally had lizard tail, not that it was on my list of must eats, but it was on the menu. I was in the highland jungle of Peru for work and stopped in to a little dive on the road for lunch. The lizard must've been huge, because the tail meat was served in big, curved slabs. It was very tasty (no, not like chicken), better than snakes I've tried in the past, and it had the rubbery consistency of calamari. Served with rice and yucca, and of course Peruvian aji. I'd have it again.

I once had fried alligator tail. Tastes just like fried shrimp.

As small as that is, that's waaay better quality than my cell phone photos.

Is that a large lizard egg in the center of the plate? Kinda remindes me of the famous dinner scene in Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom.

At first glance, it looks frighteningly like a plate of Spam with a scoop of ice-cream.
