I got inspired by Natascha's Empanada recipes thread.
So I just had to ask..anyone have any yummy recipes using quinoa? I was introduced to the grain when I went to South America, and ate so much of it there. When I got home, it was one of the first food ingredients that I bought. I'd cook it and thow it in soups, mostly. But don't know what else to do with it. Any ideas, suggestions, experience cooking with quinoa? Thanks! |

love quinoa.
you can do some sort of risotto with it. think the soup, but let it absorb all the liquid. I like it cooked with chiken stock like that, with shitake mushrooms, tapioca (can you find it? if not use sweet potato) and a mix of hearbs: basil, rosemary, sage and thyme such as basil. Cubs of mozzarela or tofu work out great in this recipe as well. |

Cook a cup or two of quinoua with vegetable boullion
Then in a baking pan, mix the quinoua with chick peas and sesame tahini, and some chopped tomatoes. Break up some bread on the top(great use for any stale bread you might have lying around) Cover with aluminum foil, and bake at 350 for like a half hour or so. |
