Has anyone ever had cui (guinea pig)? I tried it in Peru, I'm pretty open minded about food but it was a bit much for me. It came with the head and paws still attached and was greasy. Maybe we just didn't try the right place, but I don't recommend it.

In one of the business trips to southern China many years ago, we were invited to lunch by the Chinese host. It was in autumn in China, a season where wild games are plentiful and eaten. Naturally we were served on the table full of them : snake stew, mouse dear, ant eater, peacock soup ( unbelievable !!!) and you know what. As you probably know, in the Chinese custom the host would always make sure the guests have enough to eat by picking up the food and place it on their plate. How to refuse such an offer ? It was the most torturous meal I ever had. No more China trip during fall season.

My worst food ever was at TGIF in Portsmouth, England. I thought fajitas was a safe bet, but it was just awful.
After that disappointment, I thought an Irish coffee should make me feel better. It was even worse - the coffee was watery and the cream looked as if someone had spat into the glass.
My first and last visit to TGIF.

The cuy chactado I had in Cuzco and Arequipa was anything but greasy. Very lean meat indeed.

How about fried Twinkies? I had that at a party once and almost gagged.

ditto on the blood sausage in Hungary..YUCK! (and we have the same specialty in Romania but being a semi-vegetarian means i never touch it! what the heck was I thinking??!)

add to the list a Bulgarian Salad I "ate" at a restaurant near my town (sort of a resort). I told the chef to quit! it was horrible!

and...mutton stew...also in Hungary...this was my fault b/c i didn't read the entire description. it said Gulyas but didn't say what it was made of...or at least i didn't manage to find out until too late...YUCK

Any street food in Cairo.

Looking at green and blue 1000 year old egs in KL and singapore, wondering why anyone would want to eat an egg purposely gone moldy when they could just boil it up and put salt on it.

Badly made Mole sauce

Anything with a strong taste of vinegar or mayonaise.

The bratwurst in Vienna that gave me food poisoning. Tsted great, but then came the fevers, chills, and dizziness.

The piece of pork rib in Hungary that cost me two days of trying to get it out of my throat, probably a lethal dose of radioactive constrast solution to look at it stuck in my throat, and the operation without sedative to pull it out of my throat piece by piece as two BIG men held me down as I thrashed around from involuntary reactions to things being shoved down my throat.

Later I found out that in civilised countries, they used a general sedative first. Makes sense to me.

Hungarian speciality "Hurka", or blood sausage, is pretty damn nasty

Hey, I was raised on that and loved it! You probably don't like haggis either, which tastes a lot like it.
