No matter where I live, whenever my gay friends visit me they expect me to be an expert on gay living in that particular area or place. Somehow they seem to forget that I join them and not vice versa
Ordinary travel guides are no help 'cause they only provide none or very limited information. So how about offering a new section called gay & lesbian travel. It gives you the necessary privacy when asking your questions and me the chance to quit checking out the newest and hippest gay bars in town moomba |

nah, it's a good nickname, moomba - keep it!
actually, by now I think I just call pretty much everyone "mate"... It's just a cool, personable word, you know? |

|
|
Armchair Traveler |
that you know what it means then?

for me, knowing a lot of aussies & kiwis & brits has made "mate" mean "friend". Though yeah, I know that it can also mean "lover", or boyfriend/girlfriend, or romantic partner and what-not. Or, then again, perhaps there is another meaning out there that you know?

guess we gotta little misunderstanding here. I wasn't referring to "mate" but to my nick. anyways, thanx for the little lesson in multiple meaning of a word...

...the name's from oz land. melbourne yearly hosts a festival called moomba festival. it's believed that the name moomba derives from an aboriginal word translated meaning "let's get together and have fun"
actually I choose it 'cause there used to be a bar in new york city of the same name. then, one day someone told me 'bout the festival. and to be honest, no other nick could describe me better... |

on the outside they pretend to be open minded, solidary and world changing. but when it comes to the inside they're all selfish little brats...
if not them...there are enough CSDs who might be interested |

Alright - so this thread has gone on for a bit. It started with the thought of a gay/lesbian travel message board. Is there still enough interest on it? I can set it up no worries.
Cheers |

...although I'm the wrong person to ask 'cause I'm neither gay nor lesbian. It was just an idea that popped up my mind. But I have friends who are and they're definitely interested. Probably there are also a lot out there who're just afraid to ask. Could be interesting for them as well...

Just joining in on an earlier part of your converstion here.
Melbourne, Australia has just had it's Moomba festival (Labour Day/Founding of the Unions) Moomba is an aboriginal word meaning let's get together & have fun (though that has been debated) Sorry I assumed you were from Melbourne in another post, didn't think to look where you were from @ bottom of posting. It is a very asexual. How did you choose it as a username? My daughter is an authority on gay clubs in Melbourne as a couple of her close school friends are gay, so she goes along to meet their friends, or to go somewhere that they like going, as most friends do. |

... again no need to apologize...
I didn't choose the name 'cause it might have a gay, lesbian or heterosexual touch...I passed a bar, saw the name, entered, had a great time & got my nick...much later I was told about the festival... |

I live on St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I'm gay and do not recommend St. T for gay men. Local West Indians will curse you in the street. It's a shame. I was called Anti-Man which means "against Gods will". If you want to go back in time about 30 years then St. Thomas is the place for you.
