Gay travel forum
If you're gay, I'd be interested to know if there's a GAY oriented travel site you use to navigate as you go around the world. Specifically, I'm looking for information on bars, clubs, and a good travel forum ((similar to this one) but gay, of course). |

Hi Sandia,
Im guessing you are a lesbian/dyke/womyn (pick your choice of gender descriptive noun) so you might want to check out the technodyke site. There are forums for travel and information, its based in Portland as well, but there are sections for all over. Oh and also..f anyone can give me hints and tips as a lone gay-gal traveller or even show me where to get a pint or a coffee in north america I would be very happy |

Hi Tyke,
If you're still in NYC, head for Park Slope. In addition to being Sapphic Central in NYC, it's also an overwhelmingly middle-class liberal neighborhood, with all the usual things (yoga studios, coffeshops, organic groceries, mixed-race families) that you'd predict to find in Blue-State America, which is to say lots of good stuff to check out. Ginger's is the most well-known lesbian bar in the area. I believe Southpaw is lesbian-leaning (not sure), but more mixed as well? It's a performance space with good bands passing through, but I think I've heard it mentioned as lesbian-friendly. Have fun! + + + + + + + + + + + + + + "It was the most efficient campaign I have seen in my 20 years in politics." -- Sam Burrell, alderman of Chicago's West Side 29th Ward, on the phenomeal Project Vote! voter drive of 1992 which was responsible for adding 150,000 black voters to the Chicago rolls. This helped Bill Clinton and Carol Mosley Braun win Illinois in the '92 elections. The project was spearheaded by an unknown 31-year-old lawyer and community organizer by the name of Barack Obama. http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/January-1993/Vote-of-Confidence/ http://www.brklyn-christina.blogspot.com |

Hey, Tyke! Where in North America are you traveling? Cities you're planning to visit can maybe narrow-down that search for a "pint or a coffee." You also might consider using the LGBT travel club my beloved Marlin and I started. It allows host members to offer accomodations to guest members -- greatly reducing your travel expenses and provides you with a "gay guide" while on your travels! Right now lifetime memberships are FREE! Check us out at www.hospigaiety.com and you'll find a much easier way to discover that "pint or coffee" quickly! Hospigaiety Club -- worldwide LGBT travel club where host members offer inexpensive (even FREE) accommodations to worldwide LGBT members. |

If you're looking for lesbian travel info, I'd suggest the lesbian travel site www.girlports.com
From the looks of it, it's the only site offering real lesbian-centric info for cities around the world. I hope this can help some of you! Cheers, Genkigirl |
