So, you get paid for your 12 weeks holiday a year which couldn't be better. Except none of my mates can afford the time or money to come travelling with me! Who's with me on this?!

There are lots of advocates of solo travel on these boards, myself included, you should give it a shot Smile

Definitely!Solo travel has many perks -- the biggest being you can do what you want when you want. One of the best ways to travel, if you ask me. You also tend to meet more people along the way, since you aren't closed off into a tiny clique of two or three.

I work on the school calendar schedule and love having so much time off to travel. I just go alone or on a series of shorter trips with people who have a span of time off here or there.

I also let friends know of my longer travel plans and invite them to come along any stretch that sounds interesting to them. It may only be for a week, though it breaks up the longer trip, and then allows you to send them on their way if you tire of their company. Smile

Many people are jealous of the time that you have off -- use it as best you can!

Ahh, don't worry, I have been going off and doing my own thing and met heaps of very cool people along the way! But, sometimes it's nice to plan it all with some people. Cheers for the inspiration, I won't worry so much about going it alone!
