A random question popped into my head...

Are au pairs predominately female? Can males do it? Is it hard to find a position as one as a male (i.e., an unwritten rule you have to be female?)

I have no interest in being an au pair, just something I was randomly curious about, as I never hear about male au pairs.

of course they can be au pairs but i dont think there are too many males that want to... and in my experience (i am a female au pair)... generally the families to prefer women.

i met an male american who wanted to do it but no families wanted him so he opened a hostel abroad instead.
