Yeah!! I'm so proud of myself!! I actually paid off all my debt (well minus one student loan but it's a tax write off anyway).

I'm so excited I can't believe I actually did it. I set off to have it completed by the end of the summer and it took my one month longer but I did it!! I really thought it would never happen.

The trip seems so much more realistic now. Yippee!!!

That's great. So much money can be freed off once you are debt free. Enjoy your travels and don't go back into debt to fund your trip (not that you would, but I know others who have!)

Awesome, congrats!

I can remember many years ago when I had run up some credit card debt. It was not fun! But what a great feeling to finally get rid of it. Smile

One this is for sure, being in debt at least once sure gives you motivation to stay out of it in the future! Big Grin

You rock.
I'm slightly in debt myself, right now.
I'd love to be free of it, but I'm in limbo right now because I'm newly jobless, and moving soon-
I figure once I get settled in elsewhere, I'll be able to maintain my focus.
Mind divulging a little more info about it all...?
How you did it, perhaps. Big Grin

Well since I have been in a commission only job for years I was always afraid to make huge payments on my credit cards since I was never exactly sure when I was getting paid again. Finally in May I knew there was no way I could continue this crap so i put myself on a serious budget & didn't worry about my next check.

Then I took out like $100 in cash and would have that for 2 weeks (hopefully 3) and if I couldn't afford anything after that, then that was it. It didn't include groceries though which i bought seperate but still cheaply. Basically I was just really good w/ what i wanted vs. what i actually needed. When the $$ was out I was done. I stopped going out to dinner, except rarely, never bought drinks out and didn't do anything much all summer. I kept myself at about $200/mth and made big payments until I was done w/ the debt. It was really hard towards the end since I had been writing huge checks for a few months but it was nice being done w/ it at the end!

To be honest, once i set my mind to it - it was really easy. You can do it!
