Holds PhD in Packing |
I've been working alot for the past couple years to save for travel (30-40 hours a week) and b/c I'm a full time student I'm incredibly busy. Anyways, I missed my last dental appointments b/c of being too busy to go and lo and behold I now have two absessed teeth. This is just a reminder for everyone to take the time for preventative health care. This is obvious, and before this "must save money for travel" obsession started I was really good at staying healthy and taking the time for check-ups and what not. A $20 check-up could of saved me a huge amount of money(probably $3,000 + as I don't have health care), alot of pain, and possibly my teeth if I choose to have them pulled (wayy cheaper).

Yes. Good.
Puts things in perspective. What good is travel if you don't have the health to enjoy it? ____________________________ "Of the gladdest moments in human life, is the departure upon a distant journey into unknown lands. Shaking off with one mighty effort the fetters of Habit, the leaden weight of Routine, the cloak of many Cares and the slavery of Home, one feels once more happy. The blood flows with the fast circulation of childhood . . . A journey, in fact, appeals to Imagination, to Memory, to Hope, the three sister Graces of our moral being." - Captain Sir Richard Francis Burton |

Our dental surgeries are going tit's up!
Am I mad, in a coma; or back in time? |

A HUGE reccomendation to others is to buy an electric toothbrush. I know they are expensive (like $100 plus pricey brush heads you need every couple weeks), but I have saved tons because of it. I had all sorts of pricey dental work needed up until a few years ago when I bought the electric, and now ive had no problems whatsoever.

I can vouch for this! My son bought a Sonicare a few months ago and uses it religiously. My daughter and I rarely use it (too lazy to change the brush) although we could if we wanted. The last two cleanings (which we all attend at the same times) the dentist said my son really didn't even need a cleaning but out teeth definitely did! And we are good brushers! |

I am scared of electric toothbrushes as I have porcelain veneers. ;-)
