Hi Guys,

Aluminum prices are going up. Call your local scrap yards and see how much a pound of aluminum cans is going for...

Set up a box at work for recycling them, crush them and take them over to be recycled. Sounds like 40-60 cents a pound depending on geography. 15-20 cans to the pound.

Copper is already very high. If you see anyone throwing out scads of copper wire, pick it up. People pay for it.

Holy cow. You aren't kidding...

I sold 37 pounds of copper last fall at 2.35 a pound. Its almost 4 bucks a pound now! Good grief...

A fun story, only slightly Off Topic from my friend the Newspaper editor.

Two meth-heads outside the small town of Longview, WA, spend the whole night (about 10+ hours) re-digging a ditch in a rural area so that they can steal the copper wire that was buried below.

Total value of the copper wire stolen: less than $100.

Starting salary for a ditch digger at the utility company: well over $10/hour.
