Knows What a Schengen Visa Is |
I'm going to Hawaii (honolulu) next week, and am intending to stay in the Waikiki area. I havent been there since I was a kid in the 80s, so its rather new to me now. My question is, my flight will arrive at 930pm at night, and probably by the time I got to the hotel, it'd be 11pm or so, and it seems like a waste of a nights stay since it's so late. I don't mind roughing it just a bit to save $100 or so, but is there enough to do in the Waikiki area that late to keep me busy till sunrise, then I could go chill on the beach until it's time to check in the next day.

Aloha...
You can party in Waikiki pretty late and cruise the beach for awhile. Be careful about trying to sleep on the beach, though, not just being roused by the po-po and kicked off the beach, but you are a great target for trouble. I don't know if you've got your hotels all worked out, but try putting a bid on priceline.com - lowball it and see if you get something for less than $50 - it'd be worth it in the end. Don't forget we're 3 hours behind Pac. Coast time,so you'll probably be tired and most hotels don't let you check in til 3pm or so. By that time you'll be hammered - don't let a little cash ruin your short time by making you tired (not to mention hauling your gear around). Have fun |

Hey thanks for the post, though just didn't see it till now (got back the other day). I ended up booking my hotel the night I arrived, it was only $75 a day roughly, and my flight arrived around 7pm so that was early enough to get a quick walk around town and hit the hay afterwards. Had a great time and cant wait to come back!
