Hey guys, I'm looking to get out of the south Texas heat for a while this summer while I do some independant study and write a couple of articles. So I am looking for a place in either a collge town or city somewhere in the Northwest or Northeast for the month of July. I don't require fancy, just a bed, a quiet place to work and decent coffee somwhere close.

what about seattle?

well, ok not exactly seattle if you want quiet.. but check out some of the surrounding islands in the puget sound. orcas island, whidbey island, bainbridge island, or anacortes.

Think about Delhi Ny,or upstate NY.Its not entirely cool,but you do get mountain breezes.

Rent a nice cabin,and hang about.

Its certainly quiet enough if you have a car and can drive to town.

Well....If I were going to go somewhere to write it'd be either, as already suggested, Seattle or...Jackson Hole, WY.

Great coffee at Pearl Street Bagels and a library that is of epic proportions considering the size of the town...quiet? You have to work a bit for it during July...but it is definitely there, and a more inspiring place I believe you will never find!
