I will be in Mexico in July and August 08. I would like to know what my daily buget range should be. Is 50USD a day too much or not enough.

Depends on a number of things:
1. Where do you want to go? Some parts of Mexico are more expensive than others. If you stay away from the the areas that have large expat communities, you can travel rather inexpensively. 2. What kind of accommodations will you be staying in? Hostels are readily available in the more widely traveled areas. Resort areas usually charge American prices. 3. How much and often do you eat? I can live on very small quantities of food per day so my meal allotment is under $10. Usually under $5. (I love tacos!) If you are traveling on the cheap you can do it on $50 a day or less. But it's always better to have as much money available as possible so save up! If you've saved too much you can always take another trip later! Rather than travel on a budget, I usually just travel til the money runs out then I go home. www.artist-at-large.com Read my stories from Paris, Provence, Big Sur, Prague, The Yucatan and more ... $50/day is reasonable, provided you don`t do too much long-distance bus travel or scuba diving. Buses are quite expensive (but very comfortable) - Mexico City - Cancún is about $100 for the 24-hour trip. You can generally plan on $4/hour for bus travel.
