Um, go there and look at it? Sorry, but that's such a nebulous question. I think it would be great to drive down the coast with a surfboard strapped to the top of your car and hang out wherever the mood strikes. There is some pretty country down there but also in Cabo there is sooo much overwhelming tourism (I felt that way back in the late '90s and can't imagine its gotten better). Cabo is still enjoyable tho and super easy if you don't know spanish. I really enjoyed the day trip we took up to La Paz and the places we stopped on the way. Looking out into the dry, sunbaked washes you could see whole villages constructed of ply wood and what not. A very interesting place.

My still very beginner view of Mexico is that it has alot of layers and the longer you stay and the more you get away from the tourist hubs the more amazing things you experience.

The best way to seed Baja is on a motorcycle. Or, for added flexibility, in a camper van.

Think about doing a kayak trip from La Paz to Espiritu Santo. Awesome!!! And if you are into diving, even more awesome!!!!
