I'm taking a road trip that will lead me through Chico, CA. I'm planning on grabbing lunch and then maybe exploring downtown. Is parking likely to be an issue (especially during the school year)? If so, does anyone have any tips of where it might be easiest to park?

I have never had a problem parking in Downtown Chico. There are metered spots, and I believe there are a few larger lots there. It may take you a minute or two, but it's there.

There are city-run cheap, metered lots a block off of Main.

(When I went to school there, parking fines were $1.00. Honest!)

Yeah, for a horse and buggy. They didn't have too many parking problems in the days before cars.
