in my research about new york, i discovered the citypass. its a booklet of prepaid tickets to most of the museums in new york for almost 50 percent off the ticket prices. i am contemplating purchasing one, and was just wondering what kinds of experiences others have had with city passes for new york, and the various other cities that it serves.

I think Citypass is a great deal if you actually plan on visiting all of the places Citypass gives you access to. Were you planning on visiting all of the museums and other sites Citypass offers, or did you just want to jump in and buy one because it seemed like a good deal?

How long will you be in NY? Unless you just absolutely love museums, I think four of them is a bit overkill. One day at the Metropolitan Museum and one at the Museum of Natural History should wear you out and make you want to avoid museums for a few years

Again, if all those museums were part of your itinerary to begin with, go for it! If not, don't bother. All museums start to look the same after a while.
