Is the ferry building in San Francisco worth a stop? What's there? Is it the type of place that would be good as a lunch stop?

Yes! Oodles of interesting and unusual food stands and shops. It is ideal as a lunch stop.

Yup, very cool to poke through.

We found the food rather expensive, so didn't eat there, but it is a beautiful building with some interesting things inside. Probably better when it isn't freezing and raining and winter; I would assume then there would be more fruit, etc. stands outside.

There are usually some art vendors across the street at the Embarcadero, as well.

The quality and variety of food is incredible, but it is pricey. Very good views of the bay and the bay bridge from outside.
