Hi all,
I'm heading out of TO on Monday 17th to New York, and am looking for the best way of doing it. Flying is a little too expensive, buses aren't cheap enough for enduring them (Greyhound and Coach USA), and the train seems about right, but is pretty slow. I looked on the web, but there don't seem to be any "Chinatown buses" on this route as there are on the coast - unless anyone knows different? I'd definitely consider taking the bus if it was less than, say, $70. Oh, and the obligatory plug... if anyone is driving next Monday and would like a paying passenger then drop me a line Thanks. |

Give Craigslist a go for a rideshare. Greyhound is only $84. I dont think you can get much cheaper then this. Gotta consider, it is a bit of a way from T Dot to New York, so it's not such a bad deal.

I agree with the Greyhound option. It is the lowest cost, lowest effort way to go. The downside is the length of the trip and it is not the most aesthetically pleasing of journeys. $84 buck for Toronto to NYC is really an incredible deal when you think about it.
Alternatively, you could do Via Rail to Montreal and Amtrack south on the Adirondack Line to NYC. There is one train daily heading south so timing would be an issue. It is a pleasant ride though. |
