I am riding the bus from Idaho to New Braunfels for my daughter's wedding in late July, 2008. I refuse to pay $100 per night for a motel room. I am not choosy about where I sleep. I have slept on the ground in a Walmart parking lot before. Does anyone have suggestions. I have been searching on the internet and have struck out so far. I can give good info about central Idaho in exchange.

Have you tried Couchsurfing?

I just did a quick search and there are 7 people in New Braunfels that have couches you can stay on. Some people have extra rooms that they'd let you stay in as well.

Thanks for the help. I have looked around Couchsurfing and it is a great idea. I registered and did some searching. However, I don't see the New Braunfels stuff you speak of. How did you search. I did find some Texas users.

If the couchsurfing doesn't work, there are motels that are much less than $100 in the New Braunfels/San Marcos area. You can try Motel 6, Super 8, Red Roof Inn...there are others as well along I-35.
